ProMaster is releasing an innovative tripod and monopod series made for videography on the move – the Key Grip series. The Key Grip line introduces a new video head, tripod kits in carbon fiber and aluminum, and a monopod kit.
Key Grip bridges the need between a heavy, double-truss tripod and a lighter, compact tripod, according to a press release, adding it’s “a perfect option for creators on the go who still want a tripod built for quality video content. Birding and sport hunting enthusiasts will appreciate how well the two-way head works for spotting scopes.”
A standout feature of the Key Grip Video head is the integrated tool storage concealed in the control handle. The removable handle is extendable and locks in place with a twist. Unscrew the aluminum cap from the end of the Key Grip handle’s soft, comfortable grip to reveal a set of hex keys. The larger handle makes it easy to grip and make smooth, precise pan and tilt adjustments with the head.
The Key Grip Video Head has separate panning and tilt movements, each with etched scales for precise settings,. The tilt adjustment has tension control for smooth motions. The head’s maximum load capacity is 6.6 lbs and comes with an arca-type Quick Release Plate that’s more than 101mm long. A scale on the QR platform makes it easy to repeat your setup. The QR platform is also repositionable and can be changed from front-to-back to a side-to-side sliding direction. This video head is perfect for balancing a mirrorless video rig with a cage or L-bracket attached.
Key Grip Tripod Kit – Aluminum or Carbon Fiber
The Key Grip Video Tripod Kits pair the Key Grip head with a set of compact, lightweight tripod legs available in Aluminum or Carbon Fiber. Without a center column, the Key Grip tripod is lighter and compact. Thie collar contains a 55mm leveling base with 15 degrees of tilt and a bubble level.
Each leg angle can be independently adjusted for a very low ground-level setup of more than 9 inches or extended it to a max height of 59.3 inches. Key Grip tripods come with 50mm self-leveling feet installed achieving excellent stability and helping dampen vibrations. Remove the feet using one of the 4mm hex keys and replace them with the included set of standard tripod feet for capturing content on rough or uneven terrain.
Key Grip Monopod
The Monopod Kit pairs the Key Grip video head with a monopod and 3-leg base. The 3-leg base has a ball joint with tension control so you can tilt and swivel the entire monopod. Use the locking collar on the ball joint for panning movements without tilt. Remove the 3-leg base and install the rubber foot for a traditional monopod or use the stainless steel spike for more stability outdoors. The Key Grip monopod can be set up at just under 10 inches at ground level and extends to more than 6 feet tall
